Yes I do live with the in law until 12 August but I have this nanny with me for the first time too together in the in law's castle. Thanks for the advice. I will be back at work when I move to my new house.

I think I don't need a nanny for now :S too. I don't know why I have her for too coz most of the time she only clean my baby's clothes. Thanks for ppl who said I should take care for him by myself. It might sound strange to you guys that even in the inlaw's house why have nanny still. It is because my M I L trying me to have it. I have talked it over with my hubby and we will not need the nanny anymore.

Hmm Im not sure what you want her to be doing while the baby sleeps. have you given her chores to do while the baby sleeps?
I might sound harsh, but why do you need a nanny with such a young baby? they need their mum and dad... not some lazy stranger with her eyes on the box.
After reading your other posts... I dont understand..... youd rather a complete stranger watch your baby over your mother in law?????

what is the baby doing while the nanny is watching tv? If the baby is being ignored, then the nanny is not doing her job. If the baby is happily sound asleep and the nanny has no assignments to do, then what do are you expecting her to be doing for hours on end while a 10 day old baby sleeps? If I were taking care of my own baby in that situation, I'd probably be asleep along with the baby. But, if she didn't just give birth and doesn't have to wake up every two hours all night long for the next few months -- what's wrong with her doing what she wants with her time as long as it doesn't interfere with her care of the baby?

If you want your baby's nanny to watch less TV while she is watching over your son, I would simply tell her so. Give her thoughts and suggestions of what you feel she should be doing with the time you are paying her for. Maybe only watching a show while he naps or just say I would like you to keep the TV off while you care for my son. If she values the position than she will be open to your suggestions. If not then maybe you should find someone else who fits you and your son's needs better. Good Luck

Well 10 day old babies sleep a lot and there isnt a whole lot you can do with them. If he were walking and talking i could give you some suggestions but he is still so young and he just needs his sleep. If shes bored tell her to read a book or knit him a blanket. As long as she is feeding him and changing him and she talks to him when he is awake then she is doing fine.

It seems that your nanny is not dedicated to watching your baby. You first need to have a talk with the nanny and explain to her your expectations. If she does not fulfill your expectations, then fire her. You need to find someone you completely trust to watch your baby if you aren't 100% satisfied, then you need to find someone else.

10 day old babies sleep most of the time. I don't see anything wrong with her watching tv as long as she is caring for the baby when he wakes up for feedings and diaper changes. Unless you want her to do some other housework.

is it your nanny or mother in law?
What on earth would posses a women who just gave birth,to let a stranger into her house and look after her own child. Are you not breastfeeding or in the least bonding with your baby.
do you have post natal depression?,I think you need help.

how old is the baby? if she turns on the tv when he is sleeping i don't see why that's a problem, unless you've asked her to do other things around the house. maybe you could give her some suggestions on what to do with the baby when he is awake. good luck.
