we had a set of lamps in the living room and they were a boy and a girl holding bowls of porridge. my mom used to say that they got up in the night to make more porridge and if i got out of bed, they would get me. i was so afraid of those lamps! my toys on the other hand, they were always alive to me, like my dolls and barbies.

Telling him off is a waste of time, he does not understand English. It is refreshing to see questions from a really caring owner. Try this, it will work. Spend the next day or two conning him and having rehearsals for bedtime. After he has been fed and CARRIED out to the garden for his pees and poos, let him wander around the garden, then put him into his bed. Close the door and then immediately open the door and IGNORE HIM. Spend a minute or two doing something which does not involve your dog, then walk out again and close the door and walk back in again immediately. Keep doing this over and over again. When you know that he is asleep you can stop doing this.. Eventually you can leave a short gap before you open the door and this gap should be increased when you know that he is becoming more settled. You must listen for him waking up and you MUST GET TO HIM BEFORE HE CRIES. Pick him up and carry him into the garden. It's also a good idea to start training him to pee on command, so when he is in full flow say "get one" and give him a treat. Play with him and let him explore the garden or take him for a walk. Then put him into his bed and start doing the door thing over and over again. This is time consuming, however it works. By the end of day one he will have been put to bed several times and he will think that you are just on the other side of the door. Continue doing this for a couple of days and he will grow up without Separation Anxiety and stop crying at night..

Yes :) I use to be scared of my toys after reading the cover of the movie Chucky when i was little (serves me right running off into the horror section when I'm 8)

I then started to think my toys were awesome like in Toy Story! and they would talk and let each other know when i was coming so i didn't see them moving/talking! so then i tried to catch them out! :)

the girl next door who was older than I was convinced me that these very little baby dolls came alive at night once and I cried all the way home to my daddy who explained they did not.

What do you mean "Used to", they still do. Only last night, my Teddy bear was on the floor, when I had left him on the table. Oh. yes, I forgot, it's my gf's darn cat again. Sorry.
