I had Mc Afee trial version first but than i installed AVG. The AVG and the internet was running fine until i had both Mc Afee and AVG. When i removed Mc Afee i coudn't even start my internet until i removed AVG and installed a program recommended by my Internet provider! I tried reinstalling AVG after downloading the recommended program but it wouldn't install and registries were removed half way during installation! Why?

Heres a little advice. DUMP McAfee all together. Your ISP does not control what anti-virus software you run. If they try to say you must use what they say find another ISP period. You need to completely remove mcafee before installing AVG so that the programs to not compete against each otherwhich compounds the problem. To whom ever said you firewall is blocking it is wrong. Firewalls control ports the OS and other programs use, most allow programs to access ports to connect to the internet or the localhost you control that part.

Your best bet is to call your Internet service provider and they will walk you through the steps to get rid of McAfee completely.Your firewall will not allow you to run two anti-virus programs at the same time and just uninstalling it isn't enough.McAfee is doing it's job blocking AVG, since some companies install software on computers without your knowledge. I would stick to the anti-virus program that comes with your Internet service, like I have yahoo and it is free, and it saves you alot of headache.

If you are having problems with AVG try downloading Windows Live OneCare from microsoft.com (90 days trial)
