There is no special "pregnancy jewelry."

You don't have to take it out if you don't want to. It will not harm anything. However, many women end up taking it out because as your belly grows, the piercing can migrate (move through your skin) and either tear, pop out or just end up where you don't want it anymore.

So if it's not bothering you and you like it - leave it in!

No, you don't have to remove your belly peircing whilst pregnant & Yes you can get a special bar for it. They do have long plastic ones that bend as your belly grows.

When I was pregnant I took mine out as my belly got bigger but I just used to push it through every 3-4 days so it didnt close up.

& now i have it back in again :) it's exactly the same. (although there is 2 or 3 tiny stretch marks around the hole)

I had to remove mine around my 5th month with both pregnancies because my belly button came to far out. It began to make my piercing uncomfortable. But like after my first I plan to put it back in after-wards. My doctor told me it is okay to keep it in if it is not bothering you but some hospitals make you remove it during labor. There is jewelry that you can buy that is very cheap that will hold the position of your piercing. It's like a spacer, it's made of plastic and there are places on-line you can go to look and buy. Try going to yahoo and putting in pregnancy jewelry or something like that.

a body pericing will not cause miscarriage!!! I have many friends whove had them and they just find at some stage usually around the time their belly button would naturally pop out (After 5 months or so) that they HAD to take it out as it was just too painful.

Because the skin stretches so much, theres really nothing you can replace it with as there really isnt even a cm of skin free around the belly button

(I am a bigger lady and have extra weight and even then the skin around my belly button is very tight)

YES there is a special bar! it's a longer one, i have one in at the moment, go to a body piercest and say you need a bar to put in your navel whilst your pregnant so the hole doesn't close up. he/she will give you a bar. easy as pie. :) saves you having to get it re-pierced after your pregnancy... there is a link below in the source box showing you some...

you could in simple terms leave it out or maybe get a pregnant abdomen ring, that are 2-thrice longer and commonly made out of versatile plastic, acrylic, or silicone. or you're able to do what I did with my nipple piercings. I took them out, yet each so generally, i might positioned the jewelry decrease back in for a quick time, like an hour or 2 to make confident they do no longer close. i myself do no longer do it too generally anymore. My physique in simple terms does not close piercings that promptly. i will leave my septum ring out for months at a time and then in simple terms positioned it decrease back in like no longer something. terrific needs!

I left mine in didnt hurt just left me with a wonderful never forgetful star shaped stretch mark round my belly ring as the skin streched round the hole....if you have plans to flash your tummy after birth I would remove...normal stretch marks are bad enough.

i have heard of very long bars to put in while preggers.
my cousin had hers pierced while preggers and just took it out so not to fuss with it and had it redone after her daughter was born... did the same thing with baby #3.
just have to remember scar tissue... a good piercer can get around it and not make your button look like holey cheese lol
