I love animals but my parents say I can't have one until I live on my own... What should I do?

Many animal shelters need volunteers to help care for the animals. Sometimes they just need someone to spend time with them. This will help you decide what kind of animal you'd like to have when you live on your own. Volunteer work is a good thing to do anyway.

You could try volenteering at a shelter. You could also try takeing horseback riding lessons, they will be between 25-40 dollars an hour, people usually take them once a week. This way you will get to be around lots of different animals (horses, and most barns have cats and dogs among other animals), but your parents won't have to pay the bills and have the responsibility for careing for an animal.

Fortunately I don't have this problem, but the best thing to do for now is just surround yourself with animals, whether it be friend's animals or visiting a shelter. Educate yourself for when you actually do get a pet, so you can give them a good life. Or a more risky approach is to try to convince your parents to get an animal.. Stress the benefits of having a pet and also devote responsibility to taking care of it. Good luck.

You could see about doing some volunteer work in a shelter, which would help many animals. Also, if you have friends or relatives with pets, you could spend time with them, maybe do some pet-sitting, dog-walking etc. This will allow you to interact with animals now & also help prepare you for when you are able to adopt your own companions.

age 1st how old are u if you live on own you enjoy your pet more so i would leave it till than 2 otherwise a mini foxy is agreat house pet4all the family2enjoy
