It is too soon to be talking about this because so many things could still happen. Many transactions are still yet to happen and the most attracting free agents haven't sign to a team yet.
But as for now, the team that is likely to improve this year compared to last year. They are not actually as bad as the record shows. Pau Gasol's early season foot injury played a big part of the Grizzlies' miserable record. They are actually a playoff team with their players healthy.
Other teams that are likely to improve because of the draft is of course, Portland, Seattle and Atlanta.
Teams that will improve because of the trades is Boston and New York. And the team that the Timberwolves will trade KG to will improve. That is a given. The Big Ticket will print playoff tickets if sent to a decent team.

The San Antonio Spurs. I know they already won the trophy and don't need improving but I think as a team they can only get better as they play more together. Thats how they are able to beat more talented teams, by working as a team.
Oh and for all thus draft garbage stuff, who cares about a bunch or over-rated stuck up rookies from college.Yeah they are good in the NCAA but thats nothing compared to the NBA. LeBron didn't even go to college and could easily put Kevin Durant to shame. Same thing with Kobe, no college.

Still kind of early to say, as there are trades and signings still to come, but I have to disagree with you on the Blazers and Sonics. My guess is both will have worse records than they did last season, especially if Rashard Lewis bolts.
My prediction is for the Hawks, Hornets, and Knicks to all make the playoffs.

The Boston Celtics. With Ray Allen on the court Pierce will have another all-star to play beside him. Also Jefferson is much improved and will be an inside threat and Gerald Green is getting better and better every year.

The only team to give the Spurs a problem (even if it was a small problem). Was the Denver Nuggets.
I would say the Denver Nuggets Remember we get Kenyon Martin back or he will bring good trade value.

i wud say the grizzlies... 2 seasons ago when all goes well they made it to playoffs but last year wid the injuries of pau gasol the team never really got it to the rhythm... so this coming season theyre all be back with a vengeance.. and also last season i think the grizzlies is hoping to get that pick 1 or 2 oppurtunity thats why they remain in losing record... :)

blazers will, due to the steve francis trade if he is healthy. that team would be surrounded with alot of big men, with the likes of randolph, oden and aldrige which in nba history has proven that almost every champioship team had a dominant big man. except of course of the jordan era

I think the Atlanta Hawks had the most underated draft. They picked up Al Horford and Acie Law. And they needed a Point Gaurd Badly
