As I like working with wood I find that you can bend wood under water without it shearing or cracking, (Make sure it is thoroughly soaked before bending) You just have to work out how to apply pressure to the wood to bend it, then allow it to dry whilst still under pressure. Have a good day

With difficulty. All wood will bend if it is warm and moist. Steaming wood is the normal method to make any timber more flexible. Also, make up a jig to bend the wood slowly over a number of days. Bend too fast and it will crack. It is possible to get quite a large bend into wood even that thick by slowly applying a bending force, incrementing the force just a little each day and keeping it warm and moist - a steam generator and/or a hot air gun helps but dont set fire to it.

To bend wood in general, I have used steam and a very slow gradual bending process. You can also try soaking the wood overnight in a "bucket' of water and then try to bend it the next day. Once bent you must clamp it in the bent shape and let it dry out. You can also try cutting reliefs (saw kerfs) in the back side if is will not show. When cutting reliefs cut about 10 mm deep.

Most forming of thicker wood (furniture, boats etc.) is done by soaking the wood usually with steam and then clamping it for a long period in a form.

You don't say why you want it dent. but for things like skirting boards saw kerfing is the best. When cut and fixed into place you can fill saw cuts that show up at the top of skirting.
