I used to attend AA and the drama was the best part. It made me realize how insignifigent my problems were. I understand where you are coming from!

I haven't been to an AA meeting in years. My late father-in-law was a founding member and we got invited to a lot of functions.

Bad thing was everyone smoked. Made me wonder if at Smokers Anonymous meeting does everyone sit around and get drunk?

Seriously, for the alcoholic, AA is the most successful program and support group ever, and their cure rate is better than most rehab centers.

I'm not an alcoholic. Might drink an occasional beer, but don't enjoy being drunk and outgrew that a long time ago, but AA is a good program for anyone struggling with an addiction problem.

I had to go to a meeting and write an essay about it as an assignment for my psych nursing class.
It was really interesting. Especially since me and the three other classmates I went with stuck out like a sore thumb (didn't help that we didn't have anything to say or contribute at the meeting either).
