how calculate time by using Microsoft Excel?

Question

can anyone teach me how to culculate between 2 diffrent time and date? i try but all error.... can any body show me the formular?
beside that i also willing to know that which book is good for fast learning for mocrosoft office.. excpecilly excel and works...

In cell a1 I typed the date 01/06/07
In cell b1 I typed the date 01/07/07
In cell c1 I typed the time 12:15
In cell d1 I typed the time 12:20
In cell c2 I typed =a1+c1
In cell d2 I typed =b1+d1
Now in cell e2 I typed =d2-c2
The result from this final calculation was shown as
30/01/1900 00:05
If after doing this final calculation you see # signs then your cell is not wide enough to show the result. Increase the width of the column.
If I now click on format and Cell I can select the customised format.
type [u]:m to get the result in hours and minutes.
Type d to get the result in days.

=B1 (or any cell u want ) *,/,+,-, (any Sign U want ) B7(again any cell u want ) DONT FORGET THE "=" FIRST THAT MUST GO FIRST !!! EX: =A1+B1 AND THEN PRESS ENTER
