How big is this minority?

We are forever being told that the current terrorist threat comes only from a small minority of the Muslim community. What I want to know is how many this boils down to in terms of actual numbers on the ground. What is the Muslim population of Britain? and of that, what percentage are willing to blow themselves and others up for their cause?
Just as an example. If there are only 2 million Muslim followers in the country (I dont know actual figures) and even if only say 5% are militant and willing to kill. That is an army of 100,000 very dangerous men and women. A smal minority yes, but a worrying number of psychopaths. Does anyone know any real figures for Muslim population and percentage of whom support terror?

Think of Northern Ireland. There the Catholic population is about 700,000. The IRA drew their recruits from that number. The IRA probably never numbered more than 1000 at any given time. Yet they managed to carry on a violent campaign for more than 30 years.
There are 3 times as many Muslims in the UK as there are Catholics in NI. It would only take a small percentage to create real problems.
The danger now is that they will start establishing supply lines to bring detonators and explosives here. If they succeed we're facing real problems.

In 2001 the total population in the UK was 58789194

92.1% were White

Although over the last 6 years, there would have been an increase but not to the extent you are worrying about.

Don't get carried away here, the terrorist threat really does come from a small minority.

In Islamic terms the word minority means every Muslim . Here we have a problem silence . Although the educated Muslim says they do not support the views of the Mullah's they are lying through their teeth. Yes there does exist a small minority ( European minority ) who live in the west who are second generation the rest of them are all stereotyped rather than an origanal thinker. They think in stereotype, slogans,clich'es and prejudice is drummed into their heads since youth and accepted from the Mullah's without question.

There are around 2 million muslims in the UK and MI5 believe there are aruond 1,000 people to be watched. Some of those could be very minor and just send hate emails, and there are also those which are not on the list.

But, at that reckoning, it would be around 0.05%

It should also be noted that as most muslims are peace loving, they often try and recuit converts who are British like Reid the shoe bomber. He, I believe, was mentally juvenile and converted to Islam just months before he tried to blow up the plane.

The previous answer is frightening in itself though....1.5 million Muslims in the UK....especially when the ones who hate us and what we stand for in this Country (the extremists) are willing to do whatever it takes....even die....to get what they want...
More frightening is that they sit in some strategic positions, in our Legal system, our Gov, our Hospitals, our financial institutions, our Police force and our schools and universities........just imagine if there was a call to arms by the cleric and or the likes, if only half answered (although I think it would be more than that) they could cripple us before we saw it coming....

So i assume i'm interior the minority as a a great way top wing Republican conservative/libertarian between the prevalent Republicans who make up the minority. yet there are some warm chicks & milfs who're Democrats, a minimum of they have that going for them.

Your government is lying to you. I would argue that most Pakistani and Arab would passively support terrorism- how many have come out in solidarity against these attacks as well as 7/7?

After 7/7- Indonesian President met with British Ambassador to express deepest condolences and offer our help and support.

Arabia- has not signed on to your war on terror.

Indonesia is a willing and enthusiastic partner of US and UK- though we may disagree on Iraq (this is actually due to many elites having ties with Saddam's oil rather than any ideology or moral principles.). If elites were not involved with underhanded oil- yes, Indonesia would gladly fight with your Gurkha's for we wish to take the war back to the Arab. Now is payback time.

there are roughly 1.5million muslims in the UK. Of which no one knows how many are extremists so i can't give you an answer
