The first rule is to NEVER use a partnership (in the US). Use an LLC, s-Corporation, or c-Corporation.

Check with your accountant.

You will have to register the business with the registrar of business names. If you have a partner then you must have a written agreement or you fall back on the Partnership Act. For the web site you need a web designer or diy.

You can. Set up a partnership (it's the same process as sole-proprietor, only with more than 1 person). Choose a company name and set up a website. Where about are you? Maybe we can work together. My business is online property advertising.

My stepfather has been stitched up twice by business partners, once in the early seventies and later in the early nineties. Before you begin trading please be sure that you have a legal document drawn up by a Solicitor declaring that you and the partner are jointly and severally liable for all aspects of the business. I'm pretty sure that there's a standard format document that's used these days. Worth having, because if your partner slopes off to Australia with the takings (like happened to my stepfather) you're left with the full liability for debts incurred by your business unless they have something to hold over your partner.

First find a parner. Not as easy as it sounds.
