THE OLD ACCOUNTS OF PF OFFICE IS NOT TALLIED FROM LONG TIME. SO IT WILL TAKE TIME TO COMPUTERISED IT.

I wonder the same :) The full computerisation of the PF directorate and all state offices are planned to be part of the 10th five year plan (2002-2007). I read in economic times that this process is on track. Let's hope that by year end things will be in place.

PS:- BTW, two weeks back, I received a courier from the PF office that containted a computer statement of my PF account. I was very much thrilled to see this for the first time in my life. Only when I scrutinized I realized that the statement was for the year 2003-04 and not for the last year... LOL! This is probably an indicator on what to expect for the next one year. Even after complete computerization, it might take another year or so to clear off their backlogs... Hopefully from 2008 end things will be in order.

computerisation would not solve any problem unless worker doesn't change there mind setup.
