We'd like to spend a holiday vacation somewhere in spain, but we'd like to go to a place where it's outside the city but close to great architectural icons, plus is it easy to get there and drive around?

any advice?

I live near Malaga and I would suggest Granada, it is close to the Sierra Nevada mountain range with stunning scenery, the town is a good place to go and there is much history to be seen in Granada, you are also very well connected to other palces of interest around the area.

I have an area guide here that might interest you
