What a wonderful question..... I am afraid we do not know what is a real beginning!
Any beginning that we know of or can imagine is brought about by a change, which means there was something else before this beginning, which ended precisely for the beginning to get defined. In that sense, as you so insightfully state, whatever we can imagine about any beginning is indeed the end of something as well.
The very beginning of it all must be the beginning of time itself from NOTHINGNESS.... just a logic that we are not tuned to comprehend, because we can not imagine how anything can come from nothing.
Another logic could be that all this is a Continuum which just goes on and on for ever with no beginning nor end and just changes happening sequentially and cyclically... again this idea is also not amenable to our proper comprehension, because whatever existence of anything that we experience appears to be based on a beginning and an end that defines its 'lifetime'.
Even our imagination is limited by our existence bound by space and time both of which have a starting point and an ending point. The VERY beginning therefore is beyond our comprehension... we can only conceptualize it through our logic defining either nothingness or continuum.

The word beginning is based on an assumption which in the Japanese word MU meaning there isn't a question because the question and answer are biased on assumptions.
Being very small compared to the universe our brains can't understand how anything can be let alone begin.
Thus, there is no beginning , thus there is no end.
We as humans are in a place where time and scientific rules are consistent. In this vast Universe there has got to be other worlds that have other scientific laws that are consistent to their knowledge.
There is no beginning there is no end that we can comprehend.
The String theory and the study of Quantum Physics are theories that are comparable to our finest brains in this time and place.
I believe that when we die we will understand more about the mysteries of the universe. We are part of the of a mysterious
cycle

Just think of that double fish diagram used for Yin and Yang: For there to be a beginning there must be an end, and the beginning begins when the ending ends and vice versa, for n'ver the twain shall meet.

Yes, a beginning can be an end of something but not necessarily always. More often, when something begins, it begins by itself unaffected by events and circumstances that surround it...

Start a conversation....
Falling in love.....
A wedding....
Birth of a child.....
First day of school...
First day of first job....
Departure of an air plain... Starting a journey...
There is lot more, but all are beginning of something beautiful and when something ends... that can be nice too.... but they are two separate things, we can't necessarily say one is connected to other, I can't ....
I see beginning in everything...and I love to see that way.
