is already being printed? didn't JKR want to release it on 7/7/07? because that being the best magical number. well i dont see why she couldnt have. i mean they are already being printed and have been for a while now, so why didnt she do as she wanted. instead we have to wait till the 21 and that is a total bummer. does anyone else feel like i do and think she could have released on 7/7/07? or would she still not have been ready?

Here's one suggestion regarding the book coming out after the movie:
"The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on Friday, July 13...movie premieres cannot be rescheduled, all the theaters are booked. Someone...didn't want the movie opening and the book release to be the same weekend...book could be scheduled to come out the week before, or the week after.
The only reason I think the movie company would not want the book to come out first is they felt the book would NOT offer positive pre-publicity buzz... they could only think that if Book 7 has an unhappy ending, which would turn off people from wanting to see any Harry Potter movie afterward."
Maybe? Personally, I hope not. This is an opinion of the writer, but interesting point.

She has proberly been ready for a while to print the books, and i agree that it would of been a lot better if it was on the 7th, but maybe she thought it was too close to the movie release and also live earth is on 7/7/07, so maybe she didn't want it to clash.
So all I'm really saying is that i agree and it's a bummer we have to wait.

The 7/7/07 thing is largely a fan based hope/wishful thinking and not actually a date that JKR ever said she wanted to release on.
The 21st however is a nostalgic date and possibly has more meaning to her as it marks 10 years since the first book was published.

I know I read somewhere that the multiples of certain numbers are also magical numbers. I want to say it was in "A Dictionary of Superstitions" by Sophie Lanse and André Pascal Gaultier, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for in the photocopies I've got. Still, 21 is a multiply of both 3 and 7, both of which are magical numbers. Makes 7/21/07 a pretty decent release date.

SHE never said it was going to be 7x7x7... that was 100% pure fan speculation. Notice that it is still 7/(7x7x7)/07. 21 is divisable by 7.
I think one of the reasons for the delay is to help the film. Sad to say really. But say Harry was to die, who would want to read that in the book and then go see the 5th movie.
As it stands, I am surprised they made the announcement of the theme park before the book came out.

I actually heard that the movie is being released on July 11th now...
The reason the book is coming out on the 21st is because it has to be translated into different languages. J.K.R wanted to release the 7th book at the same time all over the world... That way all of us fans could begin reading "together" so to speak...

Bah, what difference does it make?? She's planning on ending the series soon anyways. She was even contemplating killing off Harry. :(
So, as regards to the book being a little later, better late than never (as it will soon be).
