Conan thanks for the information on all the Pardons Bush has given. Others may want to see that as well.

I know he is within his right to do so but considering the crime!!! This is something that he should serve time for. Clinton pardoned alot of people for money issues... maybe that is where the surplus came from during his administration, i'm just saying.

Considering the heat Bush and Chenney are getting, I feel he should NOT have pardoned him and allowed him to serve his time. This is something that was done that put the Country in jeopardy. Now he is worried about immigration???? How ironic!

Scenic Route: how much worse does it get then to falsely enter us into a war under false pretenses. Putting Americans and other civilians in jeopardy for no reason. I call that a crime in itself.

Libby did commit a crime against our country!

It is yet another abuse of presidential authority. While it is well within the President's Constitutional rights to commute and pardon criminal sentences, the President ought to use this authority to commute or pardon only those sentences where the prosecution clearly made a mistake or was clearly corrupt or where the law is clearly unjust. Libby's sentence was 2 1/2 years -- he could have served that sentence standing on his head. How is 2 1/2 years a harsh sentence for giving out the name of CIA agent? There are people serving sentences for pot possession that are longer 2 1/2 years.

That he was fair in commuting his sentence, leaving the court's judgment in place.

Clinton was the one who pardoned outright criminals. Libby did not fall into this category.

Know ye what ye speak about, Girl. It's pretty tough to even take a stab at Bush in this instance, when much, much worse atrocities have been allowed to skate by the democrat party before...

and you guys still regard Clinton as an icon. tsk, tsk

i do no longer comprehend if 30 months substitute into severe. possibly, possibly no longer. yet i think of the administrative shouldn't in any respect intervene with the judiciary branch. Presidential pardons are a relict from colonial and feudal cases. loopy bill Clinton pardoned a hundred and forty I heard. In a actual democracy presidents should not be able to achieve this. If we don't have faith our judiciary to make top judgements than we don't have faith our democracy. sounds like G W Bush would not have faith our democracy.

it says if you take the fall and keep your mouth shut he'll bail you out, he didn't pardon him which is different he merely took away the jail portion of the sentence, Libby was a fall guy a patsy he did what he was told, other presidents should have done the same to their loyal people who ended up in jail

What this reveals about President Bush is that he is PRESIDENT and perfectly within his rights.

I do NOT believe this means President Bush condones criminal conduct.

Check out this link to see just who President Clinton pardoned during his presidency.

I don't know the ins and outs of this so-called criminal conviction, but it seems to me that if you do the crime you should do the time. Pardon me, but this administration stinks......

Bush's speech and hasty actions all point to his outright guilt in this serious National Security matter---and I DO think he needs to be investigated and brought up on formal criminal charges.

It's not everyday you see a lame duck President scared......
