In a nutshell - an annulment means there wasn't a legitimate marriage, and a divorce is the dissolution of a legitimate marriage.
Usually an annulment can only be sought in the early stages of a marriage - usually before 6 months, though that does vary from place to place. In some, only non-consumation (no sex) for an annulment, and in others its because either party didn't enter the marriage properly - too young, not aware of who the other was, pressured into it, etc.
A divorce is usually more complicated, involving more money, property, and maybe custody issues.

The best in either case is to have worked through all other options before getting that far, including not getting married until both are willing and sure that that is what they want.

After an annulment you are single, after a divorce you are a divorcee
You can get an annulment through the Catholic church if you can prove you never consummated the marriage (never had sex).
You can get a legal annulment if you can prove you entered the mar rage under false or coerced pretenses.

I dunno details, but I know definitions. Divorce is like the couple was married but now they're seperated. It's legal in the eyes of the state, but my church--The Catholic Church--would still say the couple was married before God.

An annulment is like canceling out a marriage. For whatever reason, the marriage wasn't "real". In my church, many people claim that the couple didn't really love each other at the time of marriage, thereby canceling the entire concept of marriage. So the Catholic Church says that the couple was never married at all... and annuls the marriage.

An annulment is an order which declares the marriage was never made valid & never began.

A divorce ends a marriage.

That's the simplest distinction.
