I actually thought of two...they are both country though. One is "Concrete Angel" from Martina McBride. The second is from John Michael Montgomery. I think it might be called "The Little Girl" I cry every time I hear either of these.

Seasons In The Sun
(By Terry Jacks - a one-hit wonder)

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and A B C's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.

Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

Goodbye Papa please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along.

Goodbye Papa its hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

Goodbye Michelle my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground.

Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone

All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun

I love this song by David Ball...it's sad, but good. You must read this!

Lyrics for Song: Riding With Private Malone
Lyrics for Album: Amigo

I was just out of the service thumbing through the classifieds
When an ad that said:"Old Chevy" somehow caught my eye
The lady didn't know the year,or even if it ran
But I had that thousand dollars in my hand

It was way back in the corner of this old ramshackle barn
Thirty years of dust and dirt on that green army tarp
When I pulled the cover off,it took away my breath
What she called a Chevy was a sixty six Corvette

I felt a little guilty as I counted out the bills
But what a thrill I got when I sat behind the wheel
I opened up the glove box and that's when I found the note
The date was nineteen-sixty six and this is what it wrote:

He said,"My name is Private Andrew Malone"
"If you're reading this,then I didn't make it home"
"But for every dream that shattered, another one comes true"
"This car was once a dream of mine, now it belongs to you"
"And though you may take her and make her your own"
"You'll always be riding with Private Malone"

Well it didn't take me long at all,I had her running good
I love to hear those horses thunder underneath her hood
I had her shining lika a diamond and I'd put the rag top down
All the pretty girls would stop and stare as I drove her through town

The buttons on the radio didn't seem to work quite right
But it picked up that oldie show, especially late at night
I'd get the feeling sometimes,if I turned real quick I'd see
A soldier riding shotgun in the seat right next to me

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
He told me to take her and make her my own
And I was proud to be riding with Private Malone

One night it was raining hard,I took the curve too fast
I still dont remember much about that fiery crash
Someone said they thought they saw a soldier pull me out
They didn't get his name, but I know without a doubt

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
I know I wouldn't be here if he hadn't tagged along
That night I was riding with Private Malone
Oh,thank God,I was riding with Private Malone

There are quite a few of them, but one that makes me tear up almost every time I hear it is The Way She Feels by Between the Trees. It is about a cutter. Its actually based on the story of a real person, Rene Yohe, who inspired To Write Love On Her Arms. Its an awesome song!

I cried when I heard Tim MaGraw's Don't Take th Girl.

And I wrote one about an abducted child and cried the whole time I was writing it. It's called My Blue Neighborhood. It's on my myspace. Email me if you want to hear it. And I'll send you the address!

Dr Hook

Daddy's Little Girl

She'd snuggle up and talk to me
Each night as I watched TV
I'd teasingly call her chatterbox
Then one night she said don’t be scared
I see an angel on the stairs
Daddy can you hear the angel talk

One more year of lollipops
Ice cream cones and soda pop
One more year of daddy's little girl
One more year of crackerjacks, bubblegum
And sugar smacks
One more year of daddy's little girl

I took her in my arms upstairs
And as she said her night time prayers
I felt a fever burning in her head
She gave thanks for mom and me
And said I heard my angel speak
Daddy this is what my angel said

Repeat chorus

Her faith grew strong her body weak
And soon my frightened eyes could see
There was nothing on earth that I could do
And one year later to the day in her sleep
She slipped away and I knew what she had
Said and heard was true

One more year of lollipops ice cream cones
And soda pop one more year of daddy's little girl
One more year of crackerjacks bubblegum and
Sugar smacks one more year of daddy's little girl
One more year of daddy's little girl
