as long as the person is alive the person needs to eat, therefore he or she needs to rid them self of the waste. I'm sure there is a way, however I'm unsure exactly how it works and i don't care to find out.

All the nerves may not be affected equally. If the nerves to the rectum are affected, you may not be able to evacuate.
