Debbie if you dint know how to open the laptop i would suggest you take it to a computer store and have them upgrade your ram with the correct sought.

Check the books that came with the laptop. You should find the answer there. You can also call Dell. Otherwise the help of a REPUTABLE shop should also be OK.

If you go off on your own or the advice of a self appointed Expert you could install incompatible RAM or do some silly thing and ekam your life backwards and miserable.

Check the bottom of the PC and open the little doors. You'll see the ram chips. If one is empth, just plug another one of the same type in. Or else get two that have more capacity, and if you don't know what to do with the spare ones, I'll be happy to take them. : )
