I was wondering about this and i wasnt sure if i'd consider them rock but i know that they arnt pop...so what are they?

Aside from the crap/corporate statements, I'd call them post-grunge. They'd fit under the 3rd wave (1st wave = Candlebox/Collective Soul, 2nd Wave = Creed).

The band has qualities under genres like alternative rock and hard rock along with post-grunge. Those are your 3 best fits.


The band most certainly is not alternative metal or metal at all as they lack a lot of characteristics of either.

I've always thought of them as rock. Just mainstream rock.

It's pop in the form of rock n' roll.... evidenced by the fact that their lyrics sound like the "personal journal" writings of a depressed teenager. See also Simple Plan.

I'd just say it's total garbage. Complete sell-out, generic, uncreative rock. So yeah, it's rock.
