I'm and i've never drank. I feel like I don't drink for moral reasons but i'm not sure why. Does anyone else feel this or can you tell me why I feel this way

Maybe you have witnessed the damage that drinking can do. That would mean that you also have practical reasons for not drinking in addition to moral reasons. Your body will do just fine without any alcohol in it. There is no government RDA (recommended daily allowance) for alcohol, your body just does not require it.
Personally, I feel, believe and think that my practical reasons for not drinking are much greater than any moral reasons I have for not drinking. Life is just better without it. I am also not surprised when those who do drink have more accidents and health problems than those who do not. But I do not pass judgement on those that drink, they'll discover soon enough the problems drinking alcohol will cause them.
I wonder about all the people whose lives have been ruined by alcohol. What would be the things they could have accomplished if they hadn't destroyed their lives with alcohol?

I think you feel like you have moral reasons for not drinking because on some level drinking has always been associated with slacking off, not being productive, wild and irresponsible behavior and because it lowers your inhibitions, which sometimes causes people to do "bad" stuff they wouldn't otherwise do. Those are the common associations people make... but when people say that any drinking is bad i think it's a little extreme. I personally think drinking responsibly and in moderation is fine and can sometimes help people to bond and open up to each other

I think that the comment above (no disrespect) is a little harsh. I personally find nothing wrong with drinking, but I respect those who feel an aversion. I think that your reasons might come down to a subconcious childhood instinct. You were (probably) always taught "not to drink until you're twenty-one" and the lesson stuck! There's nothing wrong with not drinking, and there's also nothing wrong with not having a "good reason." If people give you a hard time about it, tell them you don't like the taste (this may be another reason!) The real problem is when you feel like you're missing out on opportunities. If there are no religious, legal, or health-related issues causing you not to drink, you may eventually feel like you're missing out. Until then, don't worry about it! Whatever choice you choose to make is fine. I am not in any way suggesting that all people who drink are alchoholics, but in my opinion, that's one less drunk driver on the road. =)

Most people, even if they have drank before, can simply see a disadvantage to drinking, wether from childhood or personal exposure to the subject and be opposed. You start telling other people you don't drink and after awhile it becomes that way in your head. It's also a good way to stop drinking or any other habbit.

You probably do have moral reasons for not drinking if that's the way you feel.

Its very easy to feel morally superior to drunks at a party when they get out of control. But if actual morality is not the source of your dislike of drinking then maybe its just that you dont care to be out of control yourself.

Either way its the reason WE non drinkers avoid parties and bars and why drinkers generally avoid US. we're no fun to them and they're no fun to us.

But it doesn't make us better people at all. Most people manage to drink at a socially acceptable level, without bothering anyone.

I think that it can be very good and responsible not to drink. My grandfather was an alcoholic, and became a criminal by trying to steal money for alcohol. No one else in my family drinks because of that. Plus drinking alcohol could be a bad example to other people.

I don't have it but my friend does and there's nothing wrong about it.Some people just don't like to drink or feel that something that loosens you or opens your mind is kind of wrong.I respect that.Everybody has some moral border, yours is not drinking.
