No gum is for freshing your breath or just give your mouth something to do. Most gum has lots of sugar which sticks to your teeth and eat away at the enamel on your teeth which can never be replaced and it can cause cavites and all that.
And it doesn't replace brushing your teeth in the sense that it can get everywhere and toothbrushes don't have sugar that decays your teeth. And some brands protect your teeth from cavites and stuff.
Plus I have braces so I can't go rubbing gum all around the fronts of me teeth.

Cause gum does not clean your teeth, I don't want to get cavities ( if you chew most gum and dont brush your teeth you will cause most gums have sugar I know many don't but most do) and secondly i like the way my mouth feels after my teeth have been brushed

Gum should is great stuff, but it's no subsitute for brushing your teeth! Toothpaste contains special minerals that clean and protect your teeth. It strengthens enamel, prevents cavaties, and gets rid of the gunk in your teeth. You're thinking. . .well, it's just food in your mouth, how bad could it be? Very bad. Just like food in a garbage can, it will start to rot and smell, feeding bacteria growth and bad breath.
Also, you also should also use your toothbrush to scrub your tastebuds, or you get really bad breath and the nasty white film on your tongue that smells like old cheese. Seriously, use mouthwash, brush your teeth twice a day, and for your gum fancy, feel good about chewing sugar-free.
I recommend using Crest toothpaste. It comes in ton of really delicious flavors, like vanilla mint.

No. Especially if its sugar gum, that has the opposite effect. Gum doesn't scrub your teeth like a tooth brush, nor does it get inbetween teeth. Do you scrub your car or just rinse with soapy water?

Gum does not contain Flouride. Floride is the active ingredient in toothpaste that fights cavities. Gum cannot do that. Well, listerine kind of germ fighting gum can help but not the same as flouride toothpaste.

I can't chew gum, when I chew gum I bite the inside of my mouth and in one case I had to go get stitches, so I don't chew gum anymore.,,but you are probably right it may help you keep your teeth clean or it might give you a mouth full of cavities

I've never heard that before....maybe you can use gum as a substitute periodically, but if you dont brush your teeth you will have all kinds of dental problems and will eventually have to start buying poligrip.

brushing your teeth not only cures your bad breath but it also mechanically removes all the bacteria and decomposition out of your mouth, think about it when you eat something and swallow no matter how much water, soda, juice etc you drink you'll still have food products in your mouth which bacteria and other microorganism love to feed on, plus your mouth is the perfect environment for bacteria, it's warm dark and moist so brushing your teeth not only help your breath but it will also help your overall health too

No, it's not. Most gums are ladden with cavity-causing sugar and no gum removes plaque or stains. My question is why NOT brush your teeth? How lazy can you be?
