Earlier I asked the question, "What is the point in having a gay pride parade and as usual some gay person got upset because it was a view contrary to theirs and reported and of course, Yahoo deleted it. How are us straight people ever going to understand gays if you don't even have the decency to let our questions be answered? I am a straight Christian male and I am opposed to homosexuality. Gays say they want the world to understand them but their actions speak differently. So my question is again what is the point in having a gay pride parade? You don't see straights having a straight pride parade.

Lady Elaine it is you who should get back in your closet, lock it and throw away the key. I think next week I will start a movement to have a tall persons pride parade, then a short persons pride parade, a fat persons pride parade, etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah,

To the person whose name I can't make out, there are gays, tall, short and fat people in all of those class of people you just named. So what is your point. There is no special parade for people that are straight, fat, short, skinny, angry, happy etc, etc, etc, so what makes gays so special? Fact of the matter is homosexuality has become a political forum. Todays politicians could care less about gays. All they care about is their votes. They found a new lot of voters and they are using it to their advantage.

I here people trying to compare parades celebrating a persons race and heritage to homosexuality. Homosexuality isn't a race or heritage, it is a bad decision.

I don't understand the yahoo system at all..and I've been here a long time...my guess is that someone using multiple cloned accounts was reporting you or something...Not that it would do any good to complain to Y/answers..they seem to be deaf to our pleas.
But in answer to your question: We have one day a year that we come out and say we are gay and proud of it. You don't realize that to us everyday is straight pride day. Statements like 'your mother and I' invoke straight pride..#1 they are a couple #2 they obviously had sex....What you don't get is that we don't get to say things or live our lives like that every day.

I didn't see your other question, so I have no idea why it was deleted. There is no rhyme or reason to Yahoo!...

Regarding gay pride parades, should Black people not have parades during the Black History Month of February because there isn't a white parade?

Should Irish-Americans not have a St. Patrick's Day parade*, should Italian-Americans not have a Columbus Day parade, should Chinese-Americans not have a Chinese New Year's parade?

All that is being done is people celebrating their history and who they are; gay people are only doing the same.

*(Gay organizations have been prevented from participating in Boston's St. Patrick's Day Parade since 1995 due to the Supreme Court of the United States ruling in the case of Hurley v. Irish-American Gay Group of Boston).

Why do I try and get you to understand me when from your very question you are being accusatory and shutting down my life?

Your question on gay pride parades has been asked so many times its boring. I know we just have to wait until next June and they will be all over. BTW yes you guys do have straight/christian parades. When the christian group called the KKK marches down the street. The KKK, a christian organization, dose not like people of color, gays, and Jewish people. So don't come at us with all that garbage. Your argument is trite and full of holes. You just want a platform to boast your hate. I say go in bit.ch let have, because you are nothing to me, and I am happy about that.

1. Yahoo shoots first and asks questions later. Appeal the deletion and get your points back. It's better that they realize their error than assume that they've been doing just fine. I actually won an appeal last week.

2. Gay pride is important because gay people grow up in isolation. Most of us at some point or another felt like we were the only gay people on the planet. At the point we realized we were gay, most of us were adolescents who were dealing with all the peer pressure and the ridicule heaped on homosexuality.

When we came out, we were all carrying all that baggage with us and we needed something to counterbalance it. Therefore gay pride celebrations arose after the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City. The celebration helps to instill a sense of worth when we were filled with the message from Christians that we are worthless. And I suggest to you that at every wedding you've ever attended, you have been to a "straight pride" event.

THE POINT-"To prove to ALL that there is nothing wrong with beign gay and that we ALL should be one big family (thats why the flag has diverse colors to represent diversity). And ofcourse you oppose homosexuality cause you don't understand it, you will never now what it is to be gay so you just base your opinions on the bible. FYI-the bible has been wrong before.

1. You don't seem very open to the idea of knowing gay people better.
2. Don't be hypocritical
3. We have a parade to raise awarness, like cancer walks and all that. It's like saying:"we don't have a healthy people research fund"
4. If there were less christian bible bashers out there, and more acceptance, we wouldn't need a parade. Nobody opposes straightness, so you don't need to worry about anything.

You admit you've already asked this question and you got the reason why pride is about but you didn't believe it. It's no wonder your thread was reported when you are homophobc

ARE YOU FRICKEN SERIOUS, DUDE!?!?!?!

The reason why us filthy homosexuals have pride parades is because society is always telling us to be ashamed of ourselves and we are letting the world know that we are not ashamed, in fact, we are PROUD!

DUHHHHHHHH
