When Libby outed Plame, and when he perjured himself he was acting under the direct orders of Cheney and Bush. He didn't rat them out and was paid for it today. In 1 1/2 years he will be pardoned.

No surprise at all. IF Baby Bush had a good reputation for being an outstanding citizen, if the American people supported him, if it mattered to him what the majority of America thinks, then I might be surprised by this. He has absolutely nothing to lose. The staunch Repub's support him no matter how many crimes he endorses. His action shows that he feels some people are above the law.

And Libby will never pay the fine. It will be paid by his defense fund. His reputation has not been harmed either. If anything, he is held in a higher regard by his friends for protecting higher ups. He was willing to take one for the team. The only thing this has cost Libby is time. Look at the answers here. Libby is a martyr to conservatives.

Funny how some people confuse things. Libby was not charged with outing anyone. He was charged - & convicted by his peers - with lying. Even Bush admitted this.

Yes I know Clinton lied too. THAT is what bothers the staunch conservatives. The liberals were successful where the conservatives failed.

Its no wonder so many of us Republicans are leaving the party.

Libby did testify in front of a grand jury. There was no crime, get over it and move on. Nobody in the administration outed a CIA operative. The prosecutors know it, the Democrats know it, the Administration always knew it. Richard Armitage who did out her knew it, but he's a Clinton hold over so you can expect snake behavior from him.

Well let's see if Libby had not been wrongfully prosecuted for a crime he didn't commit, the special prosecutor would not have been able to pin a charge of perjury on him would he!

Not surprised at all. Just wish they would admit they DON'T believe in "justice" and "equal treatment under the law" when it comes to REPUBLICAN corruption. To them, only Democrats can do wrong!
