On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration “approved the first birth control pill that eliminates a woman’s monthly period.”

Yesterday on Fox News’s Your World With Neil Cavuto, Leslee Unruh, president of the National Abstinence Clearinghouse, argued that this pill a “pesticide” that will make women “like men.” She called it an “attack on children and families,” ending the segment with shouts of, “I want more babies. More babies. We love babies.” Watch it:

Women have the right of total control over their bodies. If the pro life activists don't like it, well then that is just tuff nuggies. And no, a period is not the only thing that differentiates a woman form a man...ROFL

First of all, Leslee Unruh appears to be absolutely insane. I love babies, but I think only people who want and will take care of them should have them. Babies are designed to be the most loveable thing there is.

Second of all, this new drug, whose name escapes me, is really no different than traditional birth control pills without the seven placebo pills. The placebo pills were included to make things seem more normal and because pregnancy tests were kind of an expensive hassle that required a doctors visit. Getting your period was supposed to be reassuring.

So since 40 some years of legal birth control pills hasn't made women, just like men, I highly doubt this will.

This by the way is what makes pro-choice people write anti-choice people off as nut jobs. I'm all for telling high school kids not to have sex. I think we should provide them with information on how to protect themselves since based on evidence from all of human history some of them will not listen not matter what anyone says, but I don't oppose telling they should wait until they are older. In fact, I think its a good idea. I do have a problem with someone like Ms. Unruh telling me an actual grown-up what to do about family planning. Given that the average American family size is something like 2.1 kids, I suspect most other people do to.

Now THERE is the ultimate oxymoron. That crazy is the president of The National Abstinence Clearinghouse yet she rants, “I want more babies. More babies. We love babies.”

Somebody ought to throw the ***** a dictionary and have her look up the word "Abstinence."

Put the emphasis on the last phrase of oxyMORON. Sheesh!

I disagree.. It' any incorrect way around.. you have the main administration on your selections when you consider which you are the single making it... the ecosystem and factors that made you %. that decision won't be in a position to be controlled as lots yet your selections could be controlled...

disagree
she sure sounds like a very sane and rational person

I want that pill.
if people are against it then I'd like a pill made so men get cramps, retain water, get pimples, have an increase of hormones, and all the other lovely things women go through

Disagree. I fully support the prevention of pregnancy. It is a far better method of birth control than the termination of a pregnancy.

it's preposterous and is a part of the reason why i have concluded that REPUBLICANS ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH ELECTED OFFICE ANY LONGER.

boycott the republican party folks, time to make them go the way of the covered wagon.

I am pro-life and I disagree. I am all for birth control. I hate abortion and will do whatever it takes to stop it.
