Are you the kind of person to second guess yourself? Of course it is OK to be nervous. I was nervous all the way into my freshman year, when I called home crying. My mom said what's wrong? I said I could not imagine paying back all that money. She said, "Honey, if we all waited until we could afford things, I never would have had you!"
She made me feel better, and that is what I would like to do for you.
Breathe, relax, breathe again. You can do this and will have a FABULOUS time away at college. I called it the four-year vacation I paid for for ten years.
There is nothing like it in the whole world, and it is an experience to treasure for the rest of your life.
And by the way, you will have the rest of your life to volunteer, travel and work. But these are the only four years you can go away without any other responsibilities.
Have fun!

Yes, what you are experiencing is called cognitive dissonance or buyer's remorse; it is when by making a major decision you have to give up other options. Know that this doesn't mean that you have made a bad decision - it just comes with the territory. It is a lot like pre-wedding jitters, and will go away as soon as you start school. You have a lot of major things happening in your life right now - graduation, moving away, starting something new - and anxiety is the normal reaction. It sounds like you already made a good choice. Live with the uncertainty for a while longer, and it should all work out well once school starts.

Don't get cold feet on me now. You've gone so far, dont give up the race before having run in it. I have a sister who quit college for a year and she never had the chance to go back.
Go to college, set the second thoughts aside, and go work for your future! You will never regret having a college degree, but you will be devastated at having wasted the opportunity to get one.

it is totally normal to be nervous for college, especially if you're going to be going to a school far from home. you'll be leaving what is "comfortable" and starting a new life. i went through the same thing. just remember that you're not the only person going through that...a lot of your friends are too. also, your RA/CA (resident/community assistant) will be there to help you get comfortable with your new life. and i'm sure your parents will be there to tell you everything will be okay. make sure you get them to send care packages...just little things like homemade cookies or a picture of your pet. stuff like that.
if you have anymore questions about getting ready for school, please don't hesitate to email/im and ask! :):):)
good luck! i'm sure you'll be fine. :)

Judging by the reactions of college-bound students who post on here with pre-college jitters, I think your reaction is very normal. Just another rite-of-passage which typically includes fear and nerves.
