Yes. It was a cousin of my dads but my family isn't very close so I don't know him. I was at an away athletic event in high school and this guy (the Principal of the school presumably) comes up to me and asks me my name. I tell him and he proceeds to tell me I'm named after him. I've never seen the guy so I don't believe him and just brush him off. The next day I tell my parents what happened and that's when they decide to tell me I was named after him. I've never seen him since.

My middle name is from my mom.
She has been pretty much the biggest influence in my life. She is a wonderful person with an incredibly beautiful heart. I wish someday I can be half the woman she is.

I was named after my grandfather's bowling name. His teammates always called him maggie from the last name. No he was not an influence in my life only becuase he had died before I was born.

my great great grandfather. i never met him . knowing i have a name that is from my family's history is nice . i see a link more so to the past then i think i would if i was just named from some book of names or after some movie star

My middle name is my grandmothers name, she past away earlier this year, i didn't know her to well,
I gave my eldest daughter a female variation of my oldest brothers name, they have the same birth date, he has a lot to do with us.

2. Well, she died before I was born. I wouldn't be here without her, though, so YEAH she was a big influence!

I was named after a very well-known actress that died many years before I was born with a cloud of mystery around her death.

i wasnt but my mom wanted to name my cora abigail. cora after the wicked witch of the west from wizard of oz. that would have been tramatic. imagine having to say that growing up.

I guess the Russian princess (Anastasia), my parents never really explained that.
