A friend of mine said it would be cool if Barry Bonds ties or breaks the homerun record in the allstar game. I corrected him stateing that it is classified as an exhibition game, therefore it doesn't count. These stats doen't count that's why in the 2003 Allstar game in chicago, they had this "this time it counts" slogan.

no, only home runs hit during regular season games do. The all star game is only an exhibition. Sometimes when a player makes the hall of fame they may mention the number of home runs they hit in the off season or during all star games, but since the game does not count in the standings it will not count towards their career home run total.

No they dont. The game just decides home field advantage in the World Series. If it did count Barry would be short 1 HR cause Torii Hunter stole one from him, great catch, in an All-Star game the year it ended in a tie.

No because the All-Star game is an exhibition game. It does not go to any of the teams regular season record because no team is playing in the game. It is the American League vs National League.

NO!!!
The All-Star game is an exhibition. Those records only count as All-Star game records.
The same hold true in the post season.

In a way. It still happened. The post season HR's aren't added either. Try telling Pirates or Dodgers fans that Maz's or Gibson's home runs didn't count.
