Blown Head Gasket and/or Cracked Head

Indicators: Lots of white smoke from exhaust, overheating, cooling system loosing coolant rapidly, rough engine idle, hard to turn the engine over (4 cyl and 6 cyl), loss of power in lower speeds of acceleration.

I guarantee you it is not just water in your engine, it takes a sufficient sum of water to start affecting your performance and even so it will clear out after a while.

Hydrolocking does not occur the instant water gets into the engine yet again it takes ALOT of water to do it.

The good news is that you probably just soaked the air filter with water and now your car is trying very hard to suck air through a water logged air filter.

This will throw off your fuel/air mix and you'll be running very rich (too much gasoline with too little air) so this is probably why you're smoking.

Try pulling the air filter out and dry out the filter housing and the hose that feeds the throttle body if it looks wet. There area few sensors that depend on unrestricted air flow between the air filter and the throttle body.

A new dry air filter will hopefully cure this problem.

Worst case scenario when hitting water at too high a speed is water getting into the combustion cycle and stalling the motor and possibly breakiing a connecting rod. Been there and done that.

Good Luck!

appears like the starter isn't getting adequate ability, so the solenoid change clicks once you turn the change to start. that would desire to be brought about by a foul alternator (no longer charging your battery adequate), yet is maximum in all probability in simple terms an previous battery that may not provide you sufficient voltage while this is chilly. If this is the unique (5 years previous), that's getting previous for a battery. Autozone has a 7-365 days guarantee on Duralast for $ninety.

You probably got your spark plugs wet. Let them dry out, and it should be fine. The smoke is coming out because your car is misfiring. Don't drive in water. Very bad for your car in many ways.

check your transmission fluid. that may be the reason you have acceleration problems

its definetly not water because your car would hydrolock and it would shut off.
