If i use bittorrent on my pc what are the chances of getting a virus? If there are chances what are the chances if i use it on a limited/standard account?

Just make sure you look at what your downloading. for instance if you want to download a game and it says it's only 2mb then you know it's a virus. Also i would reccomend downloading from www.torrentspy.com. Never had a problem with them yet.

actually, all surfing should be done from a 'limited' account, as this will end any attempts to install an executable file from an outside (or inside) user. (limited users cannot install software).
this is a bit of a hassle, as many sites now require 'active x' and other items to be enabled for full interaction, but if you don't know security inside and out, you likely should not be using all these features anyway.
try using 'firefox' browser instead; it's somewhat safer, but less interactive
