No, absolutely not. However, rattlesnakes, like many species of land snakes that are island bound will swim in the sea to cross over to another nearby island or to the mainland in search for a potential mate or prey. There is an island off the coast of Georgia called, what else, Rattlesnake Island, and many people, including herpetologists have claimed to see them swimming toward the mainland. The island is loaded with rattlesnakes, and there is not enough prey to feed them all. Scenarios like this give some people the false assumption that, not only rattlesnakes, but other land snakes are/can be sea snakes.
Quote from Wikepidia while searching fror RS Island Georgia, which I couldn't find, but this info pertains to The Georgia Barrier Islands and islands off of Florida.
"A better known fact is that they are excellent swimmers. Specimens have often been spotted crossing stretches of water between barrier islands and the mainland off the Georgia coast, in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Florida Keys, sometimes miles from land."

There are thousands of different types of snakes – on land, in fresh water and in the ocean. A very, very small percent of these snakes are venomous. The most venomous snakes live in the ocean. And a large percentage of the more poisonous snakes are found in Australia and Africa.
