i refuse to believe that snape is bad and dumbledore was fooled by snape. the main reason to my theory comes when dumbledore and harry were in the astronamy tower and malfoy burst in, dumbledore froze harry with a binding hex, i believe he did this knowing what was about to take place and didnt want harry to interfere, as he surely would have, so that dumbledore and snapes plan could be carried out. that being snape having no choice but to kill dumbledore because of the unforgivable vow. dumbledore new the whole year what malfoy was up to and new that this was inevitable. the reason why dumbledore believed this was the best thing was because it would insure snapes undercover work with voldemort and he knew that he could still comuicate with harry in some way. that way im not positive it could be the mirror of errised or behind the veil of which sirrious fell or in the headmasters paintings in the headmasters office and i believe the painting is the most plausable although i wouldnt be surprised if harry contacts both sirrious and dumbledore behind the veil using the draft of living death. another piece of evidence that i am convinced about is when dumbledore genuinely pleaded with snape before his death. i think that this was a plead to go through with his planned death as snape was having a hard time actually doing it. remember who knows what the two were saying in there minds during this scene as the two are both very talented legilimence. anyways for these reasons i am convinced that dumbledores death was planned and snape is GOOD. i mean seriously it doesnt make sense otherwise... why else would dumbledore pin harry against the wall instead of leaving him be becuase after all he was already safely under the invisibility cloak... it was to keep him from interfering with their PLAN. oh and also another thought dont you think if snape was bad he would have been smart enough to put two and two together to reveal harry in the room with them... just a thought neways thanx for listening lemme no what u think of this theory:)

I think you are on the right track!

Remember when Hagrid says he overheard DD and Snape in the Forbidden Forest? Hagrid claims Snape said that he didn't want to go through with it and DD said, "Too Bad!" (Ok, not an exact quote...) This is the key!

I think Snape was backed into a corner with Narcissa and the Unbreakable Vow. He needed to keep up appearances to the Death Eaters, but knew it was wrong. I think that disagreement in the Forest was Snape asking DD if there was some way to get out of that Vow. He didn't want to do it! DD told him he had to go through with it if it came down to it!

DD has been portrayed as the wise/mentor character in the series. If he was wrong about Snape, then he is a fool. I don't think JK would do that!

Oh my! I had a feeling when I finished the book there wasn't something quite right. What a good theory! I hope it's true, because I love Dumbledore and I still believe that he he knew what he was doing, trusting Snape and all.

A very good theory!! I think you would enjoy this essay, that is basically the same as your theory: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/#static:bookseven/snape

Harry does seem to trust communications that aren't associated with a specific person (Tom Riddle's Diary, the writings in the Half-Blood Prince's book). I think if Snape hid his communications, or made Harry think that he was getting communications from someone else (maybe using Sirius' mirror and some Polyjuice potion?).

Keep up the theorizing!

well it seems good u really thought about thta lol but the part "it was to keep him from interfering with their PLAN."

I thought it was because he didn't want Harry interfering and getting killed too. He was making sure Harry didn't do something stupid and die too. It doesn't mean he had any plan. Perhaps if he had not binded harry he could have fought malfoy and the others off, but he was not willing to take the chance, he sacraficed himself to ensure harry's survival.

yes you are right in saying dumbledore put the hex on harry to prevent him from interfereing, but dumbledore KNEW that harry would try to save him if harry wasnt hexed. as for the invisibility cloak, if you are trying to save one of your friends would you seriously stay underneath the cloak the entire time? harry would have flung the cloak off and gotten himself in big trouble. dumbledore knew this so he hexed harry. its as simple as that
