In 1983, Rich was indicted in federal court of evading more than $48 million in taxes. He was also charged with 51 counts of tax fraud and with running illegal oil deals with Iran during the hostage crisis.

Marc Rich's socialite ex-wife has donated an estimated $1 million to Democratic causes, including $70,000 to Hillary Clinton's successful Senate campaign and $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library fund. She also lobbied heavily for Marc's pardon.

Former American fugitive Marc Rich was a middleman for several of Iraq's suspect oil deals in February 2001, just one month after his pardon from President Clinton, according to oil industry shipping records obtained by ABC News.

And a U.S. criminal investigation is looking into whether Rich, as well as several other prominent oil traders, made illegal payments to Iraq in order to obtain the lucrative oil contracts.

*****Again, Libby wasn't pardoned. Why is it so hard for some of you people to get it through your heads?

BEST PARDON EVER:
Roger Clinton, the president's half-brother, on drug charges after having served the entire sentence more than a decade before. Roger Clinton would be charged with drunk driving and disorderly conduct in an unrelated incident within a year of the pardon. He was also briefly alleged to have been utilized in lobbying for the Braswell pardon, among others.

If Bush did that for Jeb, the libs would be at the door like the mob at Frankensteins castle!!!

Less we forget the campaign contributor that was pardoned after he was busted with three tons of cocaine, the Puerto Rican terrorist that killed people in N.Y. one being a Police Officer. That was done just to pander to the Puerto Rican community for Hillery. Then there was the Jewish community that the member of them cheated the Government out of millions and was pardoned just after she had a meeting with them and all but one in the community voted for her. When Clinton pardoned these people he did more than commute their sentences. I realize Libby was commuted not pardoned.

All presidents pardon at the end of their terms. The only reason everyone is squaking about Clinton's right now is because of Libby. Libby was trying to drag out going to jail so Bush could pardon him his last days in office not in the middle of his second term. We all know it's bound to happen, I don't know why everyone has their undies in such a knot. Sure it's not fair, and it's really not right. Life isn't fair, just ask those unfortunate innocents on death row who won't get pardoned.

*LOL* This is hilarious. People did get upset about it. I thought it sucked and I liked Bill. Do you remember well enough to know they didn't? No, you are pulling that out of your @ss because for some reason you think you are justifying Bush by bashing Clinton. Same old radical crap. A better question is why everyone threw more of a $hit fit over Paris Hilton getting out of jail early than either of these two instances. WE sure as hell have our priorities straight as a country huh?

Marc Rich was a Democrat, right? He was just the middleman any way. Now if Clinton had only commuted his sentence, that would have set them off!

I know you are, but what am I? You guys are funnier than a barrel of monkeys. One side cries about Clinton, lucrative oil deals, Iran, Iraq. Buzz, buzz, buzz. Then the other guys cry about Cheney, lucrative oil deals, Iran, Iraq. Don't you think most people see through your bull? What are you getting out of all this distraction anyway?

Two wrongs don't make a right...We have to stop lowering our standards because some other guy did it in the past. We're sinking and not holding our public servants accountable.

i'm going to handle this like a severe question. especially because of the fact their attracted to actual fixing a challenge somewhat than in simple terms making themselves sense greater effective. we would desire to work out larger taxes on all the prosperous, somewhat than to easily have some voluntarily donate if we would want to have any genuine effect. and that's all beside the element. the real reason is that if taxes are raised on the prosperous, they'll seek for the tax shield of hiring human beings (like interior the 50s). greater, the only thank you to chop back the deficit is to stimulate the financial equipment.

It's all about what you hear about. The media just chooses to not mention some of that stuff. We tend to forget stuff like that. Like at the end of their term, the Clinton's steeling the China and silverware in the White house. You just forget that stuff. Great question!
