Nobody can "make you feel" anything. If you think they are "making you feel", then you are giving your power away. If someone treats me rudely, I tell them that what they said or did was hurtful, and walk away. Sometimes I feel bad, but I get over it quickly when I realize they don't really have any power over me.

Wow..I am going through the exact same thing. I am kind of new to my first job and I have had so many "brain farts" along the way that it's made me so frustrated and overwhelmed with this job. My co-worker doesn't make it any easier by commenting on my "dumb questions" behind my back even though she was the one who was supposed to be training me and didn't want to. I feel ya, and what I have been continuously told is that things will get better hopefully.

Take a deep breath. If you respond to them, you become like them. I work with people who walk around all day looking for things each other did wrong. All that energy wasted on what is wrong. Go slower and pay more attention to detail. It takes practice. I am having a lot of the same problems myself. I feel like a dufus most times, but hey I am happy, that's more than I can say these guys.

The people you work with are IDIOTS and you need to remember that you give them power over you every time you let them get to you. Remeber you are the better person and they are just tiny little people who can only feel good about themselves by hurting others. THAT is the mental power that you need to "defeat" them. Just because you can't think of a witty retort on the spot, doesn't mean anything, and insulting them back 1)brings you down to their level, and 2)may get you in trouble .Good luck, and remember you awsome!

Nobody can MAKE you feel anything, you do that to yourself.
Don't do the brain farts. Think first, watch others, learn, pick a mentor.
If EVERYBODY is picking on you, there is probably a deeper problem. Be honest with yourself and try to find it.
Work is not a competition where you should try to defeat your co-workers. If you can't work together, work on something you do well alone or with one partner.
Otherwise, look for a different job.

I agree with MaBlair, don't give your power away. The other thing you can do, is smile and wink with a cheery "I'm glad I was able to make you laugh today, you are much too serious". Or this one always gets the point across: "Well, at least if you're picking on me, you aren't picking on some other poor soul ". And if you're really feeling ornery, you can add "you naughty bugger, you mean bastard, or whatever else is appropriate for where you are". You'd be amazed at what you can say if you say it with a smile.

Ignore them. When they make a snide comment, laugh it off. Or, you could just say "Whoops, that was a mistake". When their teasing(or whatever you want to call it) becomes incessant, tell them directly that it is irritating you, and you want them to stop. Very important though: always be polite. If you get mad it will just give them reason to aggravate you further.

Dont you just hate immature people that act like they never make mistakes. But one thing you can do is learn to laugh at yourself in front of there face. we all make mistakes and we cant get angry everytime we mess up. Another thing that might for you is just to ignore the mistake you make it. Just continue what you are doing when you do the mistake. Try them out see which one works for you best.
