I am a physician and it is unethical to flirt with patients unless in a social setting! The first thing we are taught in Medical School is to not get emotionally or otherwise involved with patients other than doing your utmost to give them the best care you can!

Depends on how serious the flirting is. My general practitioner, dentist, and psychiatrist cut up a little now and then, but it's more funny than serious.

If I thought a doctor was hitting on me, I'd have to change doctors. That's just not professional and not healthy for either the doctor or the patient.

it is not only not normal but it is unethical, they can be sued and lose their license. Some people, the patients, smile and then think the physician is flirting, when clearly it is the patient who has misinterpreted something.

No.
Since doctors' offices make some people nervous,
perhaps the doctor makes little jokes to lighten things up a bit. If you feel uncomfortable, then the joking isn't funny, so either way {joke/flirt} it's not proper.

That's certainly very unprofessional and inappropriate. That's not to say that people don't do it, though. I suppose it isn't a crime, but you certainly want to make your patients feel as comfortable as possible, and in that, keep the relation solely doctor-patient.

No and its highly innapropriate.

If your doc is hitting on you then you need to either go find another doc or write him up for malpractice.
