well its not really sad. its more heart warming. 2 shake up his whole career just 2 give his daughter the best medical attention possible is a very unselfish and luving act. it shows that nuthing is more important than his daughters health. there mite b alot of players better than fisher in the league, but i doubt many of them have bigger hearts than him.

Derek Fisher is a class act and one of the NBA's 'good guys'.
It's understandable that he wants to leave Utah and go to a city/area to get the best care for his daughter.
Best wishes and good thoughts go out to the Derek Fisher family.

Just goes to show that basketball is JUST A GAME. Family is more important overall. I applaud Derek Fisher for putting his daughter 1st and doing everything in his power to get her the best help possible. He said that retirement is a possibility because he is 33 years old and his body needs a lot of rest. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Hopefully in the end he can laugh and play with his daughter and maybe teach her some of his moves. I am a cancer survivor so I understand how tough this is going to be. I wish them nothing but the best!!!

all u can say is hes a great guy and some nba team is gonna get real lucky 2 have a quality veteran like him on their team, as a side note it did seem like deron was getting frustrated with fisher bringing the ball up as point guard during the playoffs altho im sure this was not related at all in the decision

I'm pretty sure he just wants to go to a city with a good medical facility, not necessarily one with both a team and a facility. He's made it clear that he wants to focus on his daughter's health and forget about basketball for the time-being, maybe even retire.
He's making the obvious choice, he's a good person why else would he lead the player's association.

i'm from L.A, extensive Laker fan, and no he's no longer grasp! come on human beings be actual, thorough out the playoffs he has been inconsistant, i do in comparison to Fisher as a shooter in any respect, yet i like him working the factor and playing D. He have been given fortunate and so did the Lakers on that interest.

It's really bad seeing Fish leave Utah, I feel sorry for the man since he was one of the players that helped Utah become the play-off warriors that they are.

I know we are really going to miss him here in Utah, but we wish him and his family the best. He is an amazing guy with his priorities straight, not something you find very often in a professional athlete.
