Just before the 2006 elections, the president knew that if he didn't get rid of Rumsfeld, the republicans would probably lose seats in the house and senate. Lo and behold, the democrats took control of both, by a few seats. He immediately replaced Rumsfeld and said I guess we got a good thumpin. Now the democratic congress has an approval rate of 17%, they haven't got us out of Iraq, which they said they would, they can't cut off funds or a lot of them would lose their jobs in the next election, the Illegal immigration bill didn't pass, and Bush can sit back as a lame duck president, with all the blame going to the democrats, and watch them self destruct. Kudos George. My hats off to you.

ilovemypuppies- I don't get your response. I am a conservative who is praising Bush for opening up the elections in 08, by letting the democrats take over the majority in congress, and mess it up. Cinner. I'm hoping Fred Thompson will get us back on track with his true conservative views.

All of what you said is true. However, in the next election I hope we get someone in there who will act and think like a conservative. I don't want to hear anymore about "compassionate conservatism". We are way past that point. Now it's a matter of do or die....literally!
**** That is what I am hoping too! However, I must confess I don't know that much about Thompson's views. I need to learn more, but so far he looks to me like the only viable true conservative candidate.

On the economy, he's is a genius.
And in general, he is very smart. He did graduate from Yale, with a higher GPA than the Brilliant John Kerry.

the blind leading the blind=none better than any other, just to apathetic or weak or BLIND to know any better.
if you are selling urine but label it water, thirsty people will drink it-they will gripe about it but they will drink it in the absence of real water even if it kills them and eventually they won't know the difference....how sad is that?
what's even sadder is the people who remember what water, real water, tastes like but close their eyes to the memory.
and the worst, in my opinion, is inheriting real water but keeping it for yourself all the while giving urine away for free but selling the real water for personal gain, thus making it out of reach for all but your chosen few.
all for one and one for all....does anyone remember that one?
do unto others as you would have done to you.....well how about do unto others as you want and screw what anybody else says different-that sounds more like it....unfortunately.
