First, sign the name how it is misspelled, and then sign correctly underneath. You should have no problem cashing the check You will have to show some type of ID to cash the check so the bank or check cashing store may refuse since the name is incorrect. You can cash a check with the wrong name on it if you want, but you may need to use your own bank

It's no big deal. You can sign the correct name OR the misspelled name. The bank can require you to sign both though.
This i what the law actually says:
"If an instrument is payable to a holder under a name that is not the name of the holder, indorsement may be made by the holder in the name stated in the instrument or in the holder's name or both, but signature in both names may be required by a person paying or taking the instrument for value or collection."

Yes, but endorse it twice.
Turn the check over and first sign your name the way it is spelled on the check (Dmalley)
Then UNDER that signature sign your name the way it is really spelled.

yes,the banks get this all the time.Al long as one of your names is spelled correct and the second is spelled close to the original there will be no problem

first you have to sign the check with the wrong name then directly underneath it you have to sign with the right name. then show your id and they'll let you do it.
