My PC is running very slow. We assume its because of so many cookies though we may have a virus. We also cannot do more than one thing at a time or our computer freezes up. Any Ideas?? Our anti- virus and spam-guard are up to date. I'm hoping by removing cookies it will move faster? THANKS!!!

I doubt it's because of too many cookies, though others have mentioned how to get rid of them.

It's possible it's too many "temporary internet files." They're easy to delete also (done in Internet Explorer, assuming that's what you're using).

De-fragmentation of the hard disk is always offered as a solution. I will tell you it will help (a little) but will have *negligible* effect and is really not the solution.

Look into what processes are running. I suspect 2/3 of them are unnecessary and are responsible for zapping your CPU horsepower. How to pare down these suckers is a black art (but it can be done!).

You can manualy remove the cookie software by going to the cookie file and deleting the cookies. Another way you can attempt to speed up your PC is to defrag it.
