I am looking to make a fabric covered bulletin board - inexpensively.

I will be using a piece of foam board - (Would the adhesive foam board be strong enough to hold fabic on it, or would it be better to hot glue fabric onto regular foam board?)

Also, what fabric will be durable enough to hide the pin/staple holes? ( I looked at Burlap - too cheesy looking, felt - I am thinking would be best but it may be too thick? I also saw linen look fabric at Joann's that looks like it may work, it is pretty inexpensive and is thinner -- I also looked at strechy lycra type spandex fabric but I am pretty sure it would snag and show wear more than other fabrics)

So what would you suggest??

Thank you in advance!!

Locate a chalk board and glue the foam board
to it. Muslin, cotton, cotton/blend will work great.
Add some padding to the foam board and then
stretch the cloth over the padding and around back. Use a staple gun to secure the material to the board. You can always add some pretty ribbon and criss-cross it. That way notes can be paper clipped to the ribbon and won't leave holes.

stick w/ a cotten base or cotten mix/ broad cloth etc... i would use batting then the cloth over it & u can use glue gun & u won't need adhiesve spray... jst use the glue gun to glue the batting then make the material about 1 - 1/2" bigger than the board then use that to glue it to the board... the foam board should hold it. Make sure u keep an ice cube in a bowl close by for if u burn u'rself & use a butter knife to flatten the material down or pull it to tighten it...

You need something harder than foam board, and puffier. Actually, cork over a piece of plywood would be best, and then stapled, not glued. I would use upholstery material. It's tough and won't stretch out of shape.
