I know it's note PC to say this, but the BB gun was great. Others include
The ball
The wagon
The doll
Dice
The YO-YO
When I was a kid, Mattell made a western six gun and rifle. It used plastic bullets, which fit into a spring loaded casing. You would stick a round cap on the end of the bullet, load it in your six shooter, and when you pulled the trigger, the cap went bang and the plastic bullet flew out! Great fun, but it only lasted a year or two before kids began to get their eyes shot out, and the toy was discontinued. Same with lawn darts. The good old days!

Depends on 2 things: Your definition of toy and your opinion. Personally, I consider the Wii to be the best seeing as you can move and have an effect. If you don't mean using electricity, I think that imagination is the best. Maybe better than the Wii.

Electric trains are probably the most enduring toy ever made. People play with them from early childhood right into old age. There is no age limit and no limit on what you can create with them. And they come in countless shapes, styles, sizes and colors. Plus that it is also a toy with no boundaries. They are enjoyed all over the world.

i would have to say the rubix cube, because how many mothers bought one for their children just to keep them busy trying to even off all the colors! ive tried to do that and i could never get the hang of it. see how nice and quiet it gets? but then a child could probably work it out faster than an adult!

Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear. Most kids have one and don't give it up til they're in their early teens. Ageless, priceless, Pooh Bear.
