How to make those rubber (vacuum) suckers stick strongly on tiles?

It helps if you wipe the area with alcohol first. Then put a very light coating of Vaseline or oil on the surface of the suction cup before you stick it down. That keeps the rubber soft and hold up well.
Let the suction cup alone for a while before you hang stuff on it right away. Don't know why that is but it works for me.

Spray or rub with water before attaching. The water helps make the vacuum stronger.
