I was induced at 37 weeks and my baby weighed 5lbs 7oz. She was small for her gestational age, and since my doctor was on vaction when I delivered, the doctor that delivered her didn't believe I was 37 weeks along. But she is now 15 months old now and you would never know she was a small baby unless you looked at her pictures! Her weight quickly caught up with other babies her age! I wouldn't be worried... some people just have small babies. Not to mention you have 4 weeks to go, plenty of time for the baby to get bigger!

Sounds fine....your doctor can be wrong by a pound either way too. You have 4 or 6 more weeks, the baby will grow another 2 pounds probably by the time he's born. Even if the baby was born now, 5 pounds is not a dangerous weight.

Thats normal, you still have 4-5 more weeks to go! The last trimester is crucial for eating healthy and puttin on the pounds.. Your baby will gain about a 1/2 pound a week so you'll prob have a nice size 6-7lb baby! Good luck and don't worry about it!

I'm sure you're fine. That isn't 100% accurate, not even close, & from what I've seen around 5-6lbs is very normal at 36 weeks. Babycenter said "just under 6 pounds" is average at 36 weeks. Just keep eating well & taking care of yourself, even overeating won't make your baby gain weight. Just stay healthy & I'm sure your baby will, too!

Take a deep breath. All babies gain from 2-5 pounds the last month of pregnancy.

Your baby will be just the right size, just continue to eat when you are hungry and try to eat healthy food but don't forget to satisfy those cravings.

Good luck!

Your baby is at a healthy weight. Babies are supposed to be born around the 6 - 6.5 lbs birth weight. Only recently is it the norm to have a 7, 8 or 9 lb baby and when we here of a 6 lb baby born we question if the baby was premature.

I gave birth at 38 weeks and the dr said she was 7-8 lbs. She was 5 lbs 6 oz. Don't worry, sometimes drs don't know what they're talking about.

I think that is normal. My sister had her baby a few days before her due date and her daughter was only 5lbs 13 oz. You have a few more weeks for the baby to grow and gain weight. Not to mention that they generally are estimating how big the baby is. It could be smaller or bigger than that.

the baby my be a liltle under weight. but you still have 4 week left and they say your baby is suppost to gain 1 lbs every week so it should be fine. I am 22 weeks and my liltle girl weight only 1lbs.

The danger is that you are going to gain weight and your baby isn't.. just follow your doctor's orders and don't worry..
