Tom K:
So you were equally as troubled by President Clinton pardoning dangerous drug dealers, fugitives, etc right?
Pardon me If I don't take your selective outrage seriously.

Even pardoned his brother....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton_pardons_controversy
I would like to also say although I like our President I dont think anyone convicted should be pardoned or given a lighter sentence just because of who they are only if it is proven they had nothing to do with it.

Libby's pardon is a shot across the bow of those who want to impeach Cheney and his cohorts for giving up members of the intelligence community and other discretions. Disclosing intelligence field agents is wrong no matter what side of the fence you're on. The current administration has no scrupples, they will betray friends and enemies alike. Their administration operates outside of the traditional parameters of American government, including its Constitution.
American citizens have been left behind in the minds of their elected officials. The US. politicians see Americans as dumb and vulnerable, ready for exploitation.
Most US politicians are globalists who see a future for the North and Central American continents that resembles the European Union with a communist/socialist government. These "elected" officials are pushing for extreme changes in the US. regardless of the wishes of the citizens of the United States. Globalism makes strange bed fellows like the Kennedys, Clintons, and Bushes being allied, all on the same side, regardless of how Americans vote. They belong to secret societies and attend meetings where the future of the US. is decided without the vote of the people.
If you and the people you know and love want the US. to continue as a country, you face some difficult decisions including overthrowing the current powers that are directing your country toward a far different future than you can imagine.
There will be no middle class and little freedoms for those who work for a living. The standard of living for Americans will plummet, the American Constitution will no longer be a viable document of freedom. You have to ask yourself is it worth the effort--do you want to fight for what your ancestors fought to give you?

Okay, let's try to make the liberals look worse than the conservatives. It's a stupid, ignorant, juvenile political game we all play. Most Presidents issue pardons just as they're leaving office; the fact that Bush pardoned Libby before he served one single day in jail only confirms that Libby was a patsy for Bush and Cheney. He knew too much, and if started 'singing' while imprisoned, Bush and Cheney's as*es would be hung out to dry. These thugs that now occupy the White House are no better or worse than the crooks who sat in the Oval Office before them. But that's still no reason to let a convicted felon go free before he even spends one day incarcerated. The Bush-Cheney White House is probably the most scandal-infested administration in U.S. history, filled with traitors, felons, and mass murderers who completely disregard the laws of our land all for the sake of OIL, WAR PROFITEERING, POWER and PRIVILEGE. May God damn them all!! -RKO- 07/02/07

The real question is why did he only commute the sentence.
He should have completely pardoned him?
The only thing he was actually guilty of was having a different recollection than Tim Russert. I trust him a lot more than Tim.
The jury completely dominated by DC liberals was bent on punishing a member of Bush's administration regardless of the facts of the case. No one was outed. No one was even tried for outing that ding bat who's story has changed three times. now. She is the one who should be tried for lying to congress, but you will never get a fair trial in DC. The facts don't matter to liberals, only your political affiliation.

Bush said that "Scooter's" sentence was excessive. Ok, what would be an appropriate sentence for leaking information that could easily put at risk the life of a CIA operative and then lying about it to Congress? Six months? A year? What? But "Scooter" won't be spending one day in prison. Why? Because the "Cheney Bush" has absolutely no respect for the law, any law, or the justice system? Or maybe simply because "Scooter" knows too much. The "Cheney Bush" doesn't give a rat's *** about "Scooter's" butt, but they care quite a lot about their own. I fully expected Bush to commute or pardon "Scooter" before he left office. The fact that he did it now is the most self-incriminating thing that I've ever seen a sitting President do. Maybe that doesn't bother you. It bothers me quite a lot, thank you.

Not only did Bill Clinton pardon dangerous terrorists, he also pardoned a WANTED FUGITIVE!
He's the first President in history to pardon someone who had an arrest warrant out on them.

Didn't Clinton commit treason at the Monica Lewinsky trial? He lied to the grand jury - yet no punishment. You or I doing the same would get five years? What about Pelowsi heading to Syria to fraternize with the enemy. This trip was not approved. Isn't this treason subsidized by the taxpayers?
It's a two way street. Why should the Liberals get away with it but not the Republicans?

These people committed treason and are getting away with it. If you had been active duty military and did what Cheney did and had Libby cover for him you would have been court marshaled and put to death> Now do you think its ok for Bush to pardon these goons? If you do there is something wrong with your thinking and this is coming from a retired military man
