i don't know. that's a good question.
deaf- i love music! not being able to ever hear it...that would be strange.

blind- there are so many sights in the world that i would love to see, and that i love having seen. i dream of traveling as an adult. not being able to ever see such sights... that would be horrible too.

I suppose i'd have to choose being deaf over being blind.

but if i ever really were either one, i'm sure i'd be able to find a sort of beauty in life that people with that sense wouldn't. so in a way, either handicap would be a kind of gift in the end!

sorry if this isn't creative- but your q got me thinking and i had to answer it anyway.

I would rather be deaf i think, being blind prevents you from doing way more things. Being deaf, it is still possible to pursue an ok career, like a desk job or something, since you communicate with workers with emails and memos. Being blind, you can't read without brail, you have to rely on a guard animal, you cant drive, bike, or run, you can only stumble. it is impossible to watch tv or use a computor with blindness, you cant see dangerous objects, you cant pay people with paper money, and dimes could be confused with pennys. Being deaf or blind would suck, and i could list sucky things all day, but i feel that being deaf is less critical than being blind.

I would rather be blind because if you were deaf, it would seem like you were cut off from the rest of the world. You could never talk to people, and if someone was trying to tell you something you could not understand unless they knew sign language. People would think you were stupid if they yelled across the room at you and you couldn't hear and you'd never even know. People also might think you were ignoring them. If you were blind you could still talk to your friend and say "am I about to run into something?". It would be so horrible to be deaf because you could never really "be connected" with anyone or talk about your day or anything like that. If anyone here is deaf I am really sorry.

Sort of a depressing thought, but if I had my choice, I'd rather be deaf. I love to read... and being blind would make that difficult. So, being deaf, I could still read, and all the noisy distractions wouldn't bother me.
Also, a lot of TV programs are closed captioned... so, could still enjoy most of that too. Not that I watch all that much TV anymore.

Deaf. To never hear sound again would not be as bad as not being able to see. The deaf can still drive, see a smile, a sunrise, or sunset, Besides, Ameslan (American Sign Language is a very beautiful language). The big drawback to being deaf is trying to have a conversation while driving.

deaf because you might want to look at some one but their voice may be pain to your ears to hear or because you get in an argument and you would rather not listen to it so being deaf sounds easier to handle than not seeing... the only bad part about being deaf is you couldn't talk on your cell phone... i guess it means unlimited texing for the deaf...
but then if your blind i guess you couldn't go on to the computer and have a email... but you could have a guide dog!! :)

definity deaf!!!! I have thought of that question so many times in my life its ridiculas! i want to see faces and people. if i was blind i would feel lost and scared. ya being deaf isnt fun either cuz u can hear music or anything but u get to see ppl and know wat its like and know wat u look like. i mean ya u cant hear the tv but they have where u can put the words on the bottom of the screen and my friends and i always talk back and forth across the classroom by lip talking. i mean ppl can read lips. blind is just so bad u feel so alone and lost. so i would so choose deaf over blind!!!

I have been blind and didn't handle it well at all. Now I can see some, that is wonderful;. I am partially deaf. I can deal with that just fine.
For me, this is a serious subject. I still miss my practice.

Blind. This is because music helps me get through ANYTHING, I can't listen to music if I'm deaf. I also like to hear people, hear their voices. Plus, I'm not very good at sign language..but music is the main reason.
