Well, why not?

To us today, science is advanced, and is advancing by the second. To people in the 1700s, science was advanced enough to tell them that baths were unhygienic. So how is it that we can, using science, disprove religion and the supernatural, without being open-minded to the possibility that perhaps our science hasn't caught up to those myths yet? Just looking for musings here.

kilroymaster - well, you're right, science is younger than God - father and child perhaps - and anything science can prove or disprove God can better counter.

As long as anything exists, humans will try and rebel against it.

Let's see if I can make this make sense.

Human nature isn't just to be competitive agaist other humans, it's to be competitive against everything.

The idea is, everything we "know" is made up. and it can't work because we made everything up. You know?

It's like, how do we know atoms are the smallest we can go, when we made them up?
How do we know that's what we're looking at?
How do we know that it isn't something totally different?
Anything could be anything else becuase what everything is now we made up.

To what we think are aliens, we are aliens.
We think they're little green men. Maybe they think we're little green men to. Or giant ugly hairy pink things.
Who knows?
We certainly do not.

Certainly I don't speak for everyone but I don't have enough scientific knowledge to answer your question. You might try posting it in a general science category, just make sure your topic says something like "Is science advanced enough to disprove religion".

You might also try posting to the Religion and Spirituality forum. There are a number of logical sciene types there.

God is real and there is no way that science will ever disprove God....... Or the supernatural.......................................
