What is the plant Yaro? and can it get you high?

Not that I want to, but at my summer camp last year a councilor said that if you chew the purple root (which only appears sometimes) on the plant Yaro you can get high... is this true?

No, you cannot get high on yarrow root. It might help you if you are experiencing internal bleeding or it may lessen your menstrual flow if you are a girl. But it is not a drug. Yarrow is an herb that was used to stop bleeding or as a mild anesthetic.
