Everything that you see and hear doesn't need to be interpreted the way you hear and see it.
They are all a form of communication above normal conversation. :)

Except for proverbs, they all take us out of and beyond ourselves, and allow us a glimpse of something profound.
Riddles make our minds shift to think in different ways.
Epics tell stories and often have morals or a moral bottom line.
Metaphor, myth, dance, music express the inexpressable; what words can't touch. They raise our spirits to a higher level.
