The same as piercing a lobe, hurt for few second and done. The trick her is to constantly disinfect it regularly so it can heal normally and make sure not to wear a type of jewelry that you are allergic to otherwise the wound never heals but actually gets worse.I had four piercings and had no problems with any of them.
My cousin had allergy reaction that she didn't know about and had caused her pain for two years. She kept complaining and finally last year i tool a look at it it need it to be re-pierced. I did that for her and gave her antiseptic to use and she was healed within a week and the pain was just a pinch while piercing it. She loves it now and hasn't complained since.
Take care now and i hope that helps

I got both my ears pierced up their and yes it does hurt, very much so after you have them in for a hour or so. Someone said it hurts because it's nothing but cartilage up there, but I don't know. It was a really pain to sleep because I sleep the side of my head, and laying on my ears was excruciating...I had trouble with them for months, but now I can wear earrings up there without any trouble...I suggest you think hard if you are thinking about getting a piercing on the top of you ear...

No, it doesn't. The piercing takes 3 months to heal and is just a little sore during that time.

Mine hurt, but a boyfriend pushed it through for me with an old piercing stud I had...
The pop was the worst of it and then it was sore for a couple of months...

No, its pretty much the same as the lobe. Just make sure you keep it clean because it can get infected easier!
